Coming from out of town?

Dear Friends and Family;

We are busy making plans for the wedding and reception at Lyon School, hoping that many of you will be able to share in making our day special. You are each important to us, so we're trying to do everything we can to insure a great time.

OUT OF TOWN GUEST LODGING*

We've done some checking and it appears that wedding "blocks" are not standard practice at our local hotels. We have talked with a representative from each; it sounds like there are a few weddings in town over "our" weekend. If you believe that you will be staying overnight (both Friday & Saturday, or just Saturday), you will want to

THINGS TO DO IN BRIGHTON

In complying with township noise ordinances, we are sharing an "end time" of 8 p.m. for our family and friends who choose not to stay over. We will still have an hour or so of dance music and games, but we are respecting the neighborhood around our site. (If you can stay around, we welcome you to join us.)

Kensington Metropark is beautiful and just outside the city, with golf, biking/hiking/walking trails, nature trails, boat rentals and more:

University of Michigan/Ann Arbor is 18 miles south; there are many sight-seeing opportunities there, as well as great restaurants in Ann Arbor. It is also on a travel trajectory to Detroit Metro:

TRAVELING

Detroit Metro (DTW) is the most frequented airport, but people do find deals out of Lansing (40 minutes west of Brighton) and Flint (40 minute north). From DTW, the average driving time is 30 minutes (although NOT during rush hour).
